T20: Muhammad Rizwan completes 1000-run in calendar year

ABU DHABI: Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan has completed 1000 runs in a calendar year (2021) in T20 format.

He is the 7th Pakistani batsman to achieve the milestone. Earlier, Shoaib Malik had scored 1000 runs four times in a year, Babar Azam twice while Umar Akmal, Ahmad Shehzad, Imran Nazir and Muhammad Hafeez  made once.

The 29-year-old wicket-keeper batsman scored 26 runs in the his last innings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League match to complete 1000 runs in a calendar year.

Rizwan had so far played a total of 20 T20 matches this year.
