Lahore: Railway Minister Azam Swati has said that the railways will be run like a commercial institution.
Railway Minister Azam Swati visited Railway Headquarters Lahore for the first time after taking oath in Saturday.
On this occasion, the railway minister said that the railways will have nothing to do with politics, there will be no politics or external interference. I will use my contacts for the railways and it has to be run like a commercial institution, he added.
He said that what we cannot do is to outsource it immediately. Revenue is directly related to the performance of railway employees, the minister said.
The Railway Minister further said that there is a lack of management, automation and technology in the railways. He said that wherever improvement is needed it will be improved.
