Supreme Court orders demolition of Tejori Heights within a month

KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered to demolish the Tejori Heights built on railway land within a month.

The court directed the Karachi commissioner to demolition the structure and submit a report within a month.

Earlier, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed heard the case heard a case related to construction of illegal Tejori Heights on railway lands.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the owner of Tejori Heights assured the court to vacate the premises.

The bench ordered the demolition of the building. It also directed that the families living in Tejori Heights should be given alternative accommodation within three weeks.

Raza Rabbani, the counsel for the owner of Tejori Heights, apprised the apex court that his clients were ready to vacate the structure but needed time to resolve matters with allottees and raze the building.

Later, the apex court allowed the builder to submit records and transfer goods and ordered the commissioner to supervise the demolition.
