Supreme Court forms five benches for next week

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has constituted five benches at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday.
The first bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Faisal Arab while the formation of first bench on Thursday would change and it comprise of Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Faisal Arab.
The second bench consists of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.
The third bench would be consisted Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa and the fourth bench would consist of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel. vThe fifth bench consists of Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan.
During the week the benches would hear important cases including Anti Narcotics Force, thr. its Director General v. Syed Ali Moosa Gillani ECL matter case, petitions challenging Toll Tax on Mir Pur Khas Hyderabad Dual Carriage Way, Constitutional Petitions Under Article 184 regarding Right of Vote by the Overseas Pakistanis, NAB cases, application for Intervener on behalf of different Wind Energy companies, Application by Waseem Afzal Warraich, Director WWF, Islamabad & another regarding violation of the judgment of this Court passed in Crl.O.P.89/2011 by Workers Welfare Fund, election matters of local bodies, contempt proceedings against Chief Secretary, KPK for non-compliance of this Court’s order dated 31.08.2016, application regarding suspension of Death Sentence on the basis of compromise and expectancy of life and cases arising out of Civil Suits/Permanent Injunction application for extension of time for compliance with order dated 8.1.2016.
According to cause lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court. Furthermore, if the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case. APP
