KABUL: A suicide car bomb blast claimed lives of 18 persons and injured many near a U.S. base in eastern part of Afghanistan, foreign news reports said.
The bomb explosion was occurred in the city of Khost near Camp Chapman under usage of U.S. troops in Afghanistan, a high-level police officer said.
The officer said that foreign military troops have blocked all access areas where the suicide explosion was happened. Moreover, NATO confirmed that explosion in Khost but it has not provided further details of the incident.
It should be mentioned that U.S. and NATO troops formally finished their combat missions across Afghanistan at the end of 2014 and handed over security to the local forces.
