KARACHI: A suspected suicide bomber on Sunday blew himself up during a raid by police and other law enforcement agencies in Rafah e Aam, Malir.
SSP Rao Anwar told media that the raid was being conducted on information of presence of a terrorist, Farhan alias Pehlwan, who was involved in target killing and other serious crimes.
‘The terrorist detonated himself when police had besieged the building of his hiding. The attacker has been killed and two policemen are critically injured as a result of the blast, the injured are admitted to a private hospital. The injured include former SHO Sachal police station,” he said.
Anwar said the suspect had first fired gunshots on police and then hurled two grenades, then blew himself up.
Police have cordoned off the area and search operation is continued.
