Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is reportedly set to undergo surgery in November to remove a synovial cyst from his right knee.
As per detailed, the club are aiming to time the surgery so that the Uruguayan striker only misses one or two fixtures.
The Spanish side have purposely chosen November because they are in no competitive football, according to Football-Espana.
If the surgery is at the start of the month, the striker could miss the side’s away game against Leganes.
Uruguay are looking likely to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, so it’s unlikely that he will required to play an inter-confederation play-off next month.
Uruguay will host Bolivia next Tuesday in their final qualifying fixture. A singular point will be enough to cement their spot in next year’s contest.
