KARACHI: A university student set himself on fire after he was stopped from entering the exam hall on Monday due to late arrival local media reported Tuesday.
Basit was denied permission to attempt annual Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) examination as he had appeared late at the centre.
The dejected student was shifted to the Civil Hospital where he succumbed to the burns while under treatment.

According to the family, Basit’s car had broken down on his way to the exam centre. Late student’s friends have held a teacher responsible for the incident as he allegedly told Basit he would get permission if he sets himself on fire.
