ISLAMABAD: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Gilani has said that state-sponsored terrorism is most dangerous and mere rhetoric about self-made definition of terrorism cannot end this menace.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani said this while reacting to the remarks of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about fighting terrorism. Modi in his monthly radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’ had stated that “terrorism must be fought unitedly”.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “We need to realize all aspects about terrorism and those promoting it.” He said that all forms of terrorism were dangerous, however terrorism promoted, abetted and sponsored by state was very disastrous as all the basic institutions like administration, judiciary, armed militia and state resources were utilized to crush genuine aspirations of people.
The APHC chairman terming statement of Modi as fraud and deceit said that India forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of Kashmiri people and rests and rules over dead bodies. “Six lac innocent Kashmiris have been brutally massacred since 1947, seven thousand women molested, ten thousand youth disappeared during custody and properties worth billions of rupees destroyed and ransacked,” he added.
Syed Ali Gilani said that Indian authorities while beating the drums of peace, ignore historical facts of the Kashmir dispute. He said that Indian forces were responsible for the prevailing grim situation in occupied Kashmir.
He said, there is no match between freedom movement and terrorism, saying both are poles apart and quite different and unless the Kashmir dispute is resolved in its historical perspective, the rhetoric about terrorism and peace is meaningless.
“Their statements and narratives can’t impress us,” the APHC chairman said, adding that all Delhi-based leaders have this illusion that Kashmir is an integral part of India, however, it could not change the history or ground realities about the status of the Kashmir dispute. “India through its military might has forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir, hence its leaders including Modi have no right to define terrorism or suggest measures to eradicate and halt this menace, as they sponsor this menace on state level,” he added.
