Sri Lanka dominate day 1 of Colombo Test

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka dominated the first day of 2nd Test against Pakistan as they put on 70 runs on loss of a wicket after bowling out the visitors on 138 runs.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. The decision went wrong for the visitors as they were bowled out just scoring 138 in first innings.

Only four batsmen were able to get their scores in double figures in the innings. Mohammad Hafeez who was recently reported for suspect action made 42 for the side while Azhar Ali scored 26 runs.

Younis Khan who is playing his 100th Test match for Pakistan only managed to score 6 runs while skipper was unlucky got himself run out on 7.

Sarfraz who was man of the match at Galle Test made 14 runs.

Tharindu Kaushal picked up five wickets while Dhammika Parsad bagged three wickets for the host.

Sri Lanka in replay made 70 runs on loss of a wicket curtsey of  Dimuth Karunaratne (28) and Kaushal Silva who made unbeaten 21.

Kumar Sangakkara still out there batting with Silva at stumps day one. He made 18 so far.

Junaid Khan took only wicket for Pakistan.
