Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi administration has taken action after the Jamaat-e-Islami held a rally in Liaquat Bagh on Sunday against inflation and unemployment.

A case has been registered against the local leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami for violating coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The case of violation of coronavirus SOPs was registered under Probable Diseases and Sound Act Punjab and action was also taken against those who provided tents and chairs for the public meeting.

The FIR also mentions that Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Rawalpindi Raza Ahmad Shah was not allowed to hold the event.

The Jamaat-e-Islami held a rally in Liaquat Bagh on March 28 despite the deputy commissioner’s warning, which was also addressed by Sirajul Haq.
