All new entering in UAE market from 2019 will be equipped with a smart feature for automatic communication in the event of accidents.

According the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), in cooperation with Abu Dhabi and Dubai police, have announced the approval of a number of emergency centres in the UAE to support the eCall system for automatic call in the event of traffic accidents.

The commander in chief of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi said that the advanced system introduces innovative solutions to boost the response time in traffic accidents.

This is the first scheme in the Middle East that receives the emergency calls electronically.

The eCall system automatically makes emergency calls and sends details of the vehicle to the command and control centre that falls within the jurisdiction where the accident takes place.

The system also allows the emergency team to speak to the driver if necessary to collect more information about the accident and send ambulance and rescue teams as fast as possible.
