ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Monday that some parties had done politics on the law that was passed after consultation with all the political parties, adding that they tried to trap the government.

He said that now the matter had been settled and the protesters had vacated majorty of the areas in the capital.

Hopefully the situation will become normal by evening.

The sit-in was leaving several questions to be answered for us as a nation.

During the sit-in, people were provoked that led to attacks on houses owned by Muslims having strong belief in the finality of the Prophethood.

Iqbal said that the Faizabad operation was conducted without the ownership of political leadership. He stressed on the need to provide an opportunity to the executive for fulfilling its responsibilities.

The minister was of the view that the executive could not improve its performance unless other institutions give it space.
