LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami(JI) Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the worst form of dictatorship prevailed in the country under the garb of democracy and the solution only lay in the establishment of the humanitarian and just system given by Islam.
He was addressing a public gathering at the residence of a notable Syed Dildar Shah Gilani, at Mian Channu on Thursday.
SIrjaul Haq said that the mission before the JI was not to form its own government. Instead, it had been struggling for the system given by Allah Almighty. He was confident that the masses would support the JI in achieving this goal.
He said that the heirs of the British had been ruling the country for the last seventy years. Due to their wrong policies, the country was going down in the mire of poverty, backwardness while the elite were enjoying all forms of luxuries. The country’s industry and agriculture had been ruined, and the workers, farmers were committing suicide.
The common man was deprived of basic education and health facilities. At the same time, the country suffered from terrorism, lawlessness and ignorance but the rulers were totally indifferent.
Sirajul Haq said that in such a situation, it was imperative to launch a drive like the Pakistan Movement for the establishment of the Islamic system as had been envisioned by the founding fathers of the country.
On the issue of blasphemy on the social media, he said, the banning the social media would not help solve the problem and the bloggers must be hauled up for blasphemy.
He expressed the hope that the Supreme Court verdict in the Panama leaks case would be against corruption.
He opposed talks with India until the Kashmir issue was resolved. Agencies
