DHAKA: Bangladeshi court sentenced six senior employees of a medicine company to jail for 10 years over making toxic paracetamol syrup that killed hundreds of children in the 1990s.

Shahjahan Sarker, a director of now closed BCI Bangladesh, and five colleagues were sent to jail for 10 year.

The syrup caused kidney failure in children, doctors said. “They were given the penalties for adulterating paracetamol syrup used for babies,” said a source.
