ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq on Wednesday submitted an amendment bill in the 1973’s Constitution of Pakistan, recommending amendments in Article 5 and 6, named as ‘Constitution of Pakistan (Amended) Bill 2016’.
The bill submitted to recommend amendments in Article 5; urging responsibility of the state and all state institutions to follow law and constitution besides full implementation all of its provisions while failure must be considered as violation of law and constitution.
Recommending amendment in Article 6, the bill urged to consider violator of constitutional provisions under high treason if the person, state or institution showed negligence on its implementation.
While elaborating aims and objectives of the amendment bill, it was urged to ensure envisage all regulations in accordance with principles of Quran and Sunnah and rejection of all regulations went against Islam.
The bill also highlighted non-implementation of Urdu as state level language despite orders of the Supreme Court (SC) to implement Article 251 while authorities failed to implement in accordance with its soul after period of 42 years.
The bill cited a detailed report of print media of February 26 – 2014 which showed that Council Of Islamic Ideology (CII) spotted around 700 federal and provincial regulations against Quran and Sunnah but neither it came under discussion into the parliament nor any provincial assembly made efforts to transform the regulations in accordance with Islamic teachings which was visible violation of Article 227.
In another CII report, 25 federal and four provincial laws envisaged from October 12 – 1999 to December 31 – 2002 were spotted to be amended under Islamic principle. Moreover, Federal Shariah court also declared some regulations against Islam but constitutional procedures were not adopted for its correction.
The bill also urged full implementation of Article 2 (Para 4 and 5) to void demolishing of the Constitution and its supremacy defaming the country around the world.
