ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq urged to leave ‘left or right’ politics for adopting ‘right and wrong’ politics in order to gain supremacy of the Constitution in Pakistan.
Sirajul Haq was addressing ‘National Solidarity Conference’ held in local hotel organised by Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) on Monday. The Senator said the nation was suffering anarchy despite presence of parliament, constitution and judiciary. He blamed rulers for denting national solidarity which was more disastrous than any other crisis.
He said economic and political terrorism dented national solidarity like armed terrorism in Pakistan. He added the nation was victimised by corruption of rulers as economic corruption was more dangerous than ideological corruption which shattered the country into two pieces.
Sirajul Haq demanded to decrease assemblies’ term to four years instead of five years in order to get rid of such government which failed to deliver good performance before the nation.
Senator Sirajul Haq said suicide bombers got motivated in such societies where violation of constitution and regulations were common. He slammed the rulers over failure to establish supremacy of law and constitution in the country.
Siraj said JI worked most to put the country out of crisis during 120-day sit-in in Islamabad by organising dialogues 78 times between the government and opposition. He said the government showed dishonesty to fulfil its promises after end of Islamabad sit-ins.
The JI Ameer said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) failed to implement its regulations and electoral reformations so far. He added election became a game for riches but common man could not even think about to take part in election.
He said political parties have become family properties by neglecting implementation and promotion of democratic culture. He questioned how democracy can be establish in the country by such political parties? Sirajul Haq urged for national unity to fight against conspiracies of India.
While highlighting ongoing atrocities in Indian-held Kashmir, Sirajul Haq criticised the government over neglecting to adopt Kashmir issue as their national issue despite Kashmiris’ sacrifices for self-determination right to show their affiliation with Pakistan.
Sirajul Haq said poverty could only be eliminated in the country till reach of common man in the rulership. He criticised that investors and landlords were terming themselves representatives of labourers, farmers and common man. He urged the government for provision of basic facilities of education, health and home to common man.
The conference was also addressed by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Ahsan Iqbal, Zia Shahid, Altaf Hassan Qureshi and Ijazul Haq.
