KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq demanded rise in education budget from 2 per cent to 5 per cent for bright future of Pakistan.
While addressing media during occasion of self-assessment examination at NED University held by Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) Karachi chapter. Sirajul Haq said that literacy rate in different parts of the country is still zero despite back-to-back announcements made by different government.
The JI Ameer praised efforts of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) for organising self-assessment examination to facilitate candidates willing to take admission in NED University. He said IJT has always played vital role for promoting positive activities amongst students across Pakistan.
He said the current government showed negligence for provision of proper education facilities to the nationals. He added Pakistan cannot gain prosperity and development without education and similar educational system for elite and common man.
Siraj said the government is responsible to provide health, education and medical facilities to the common man under Article 38. He said JI will provide appropriate education and health budget after defence for the nationals if gain rulership of the country.
On the occasion, President IJT Karachi chapter Hashim Yousuf said the student organisation established an example in the country by organising self-assessment test in NED varsity when the government gave priority to hold festivals instead of promoting education-friendly events. He added students showed their complete confidence over the student organisation by taking part in the examinations in large number.
The event was also visited by former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mian Aslam, JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, JI Karachi Naib Ameer Osama Razi and parents of the students.
