LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has condemned the arrest of Nat Geo’s famed ‘Afghan Girl’ Sharbat Gula and hastily sending here to prison. He said unconstitutional arrest of Afghans is causing serious damages to National reputation.
The JI Ameer said the government should sought out constitutional solution of the Afghan refugees’ issue. Sharbat Gula incident has further increased the distances between Pakistan and Afghanistan, he said.
Criticising Ministry of Interior he said, due to some decision of officials sitting in the ministry, distances between both Islamic brother nations have increased. It seems like, some people sitting in the ministry working on Indian agenda.
He said world famous Sharbat Gula is a respectable women, who was arrested and sent to jail which is highly condemnable. Now court has ordered to deport the women immediately, he added.
This decision is creating misconceptions between both countries, JI senator said.
He demanded to the government to take notice to the matter and take measure to solve the issue.
