LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq on Sunday urged the government and opposition to get united to stop genocide in Indian occupied Kashmir besides firm resolution of Kashmir dispute. He appealed the leadership to forget personal and local differences for at least next 15 days. He demanded to suspend all kind of relations and agreements with India until Indian troops vacate Kashmir.
Sirajul Haq was addressing an emergency press conference after chairing session of central Majlis-e-Amla. On the occasion, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, Naib JI Ameer Mian Muhammad Aslam, Secretary Information Ameerul Azeem, JI’s NA parliamentary leader Sahibzada Tariqullah, JI Deputy Secretary General Azhar Iqbal and Qaiser Sharif were also present.
He appealed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, former president Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and all national leadership to get united to resolve Kashmir dispute. He said Kashmir dispute is a national issue but it did not belong to any government or political party. Sirajul Haq criticised the leadership over criminal silence over atrocities against Kashmiris who are fighting Indian military for their association with Pakistan.
Siraj announced that Jamaat-e-Islami will completely focus Kashmir dispute to show solidarity with Kashmiris till next 15 days. In this connection, JI will hold huge demonstrations before Indian embassy in Rawalpindi and Islamabad on July 24 against Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir. All Parties Conference (APC) will be organised on July 29 in Islamabad over Kashmir dispute. Azadi-e-Kashmir March will be held from Lahore to Wagah border on July 31. The JI Ameer urged the government to raise voice in the United Nations (UN) for self-determination of Kashmiris.
He ensured Syed Ali Gilani, all Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiris that Pakistan is standing along with them and they will not be left alone in tough times.
Moreover, Senator Sirajul Haq demanded the government to immediately hold census within boundaries of the Constitution. He said the government is focusing all projects on basis of wrong statistics. He also urged the government to finalise Term of References (ToRs) for inquiry commission over Panama leaks that could hold accountability of all leadership including PM Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Imran Khan and Sirajul Haq.
While answering a question, Sirajul Haq rejected changes of any coup attempt in Pakistan like Turkey as Pakistani Armed Forces are pro-democratic forces while regional situation cannot lift such risks at this time.
He congratulated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as whole nation expressed their respect and love to their elected government to fail attempt of military coup. He urged Turkish government to increase pace of efforts for development of Turkey along with support of opposition.
