LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the masses were sick of the Mughal kings ruling the country and the politicians should better mend their ways. He was addressing a large public meeting at Birmingham on Tuesday.
Sirajul Haq said that during the last 68 years, the people of Pakistan had been ruthlessly exploited. The parties ruling the country had always ignored the national interests and served their personal and party interests. That was why the general public was fed up with the politicians.
He said that corruption had eaten up all state institutions and there was an atmosphere of despair and mistrust all around. A few families had established their hold on politics due to which the true representatives of the people could not reach the assemblies. Party tickets were sold on the liking and the disliking of the party heads and the wealthiest persons were thrust on the heads of the people. He said the masses were now sick of this game and wanted an honest and competent leadership that was able to steer the country out of the present mess.
The JIP chief impressed upon the world community to change its hostile attitude towards the Muslims and said that the efforts to push the Muslims to the wall could not succeed. The US, he said, wanted to thrust its world order by force but all such efforts would fail. He said the world powers were triggering civil wars in Muslims states to sell their arms and ammunition and were thus pushing the world towards chaos.
He said the world powers should give up their old policy of divide and rule and instead try to build an atmosphere of mutual goodwill and trust. To achieve this end, inter-faith dialogue was imperative, he added.
Sirajul Haq also urged the UN and human rights bodies to take notice of the atrocities of Indian forces in Held Kashmir. He also impressed upon the world community to resolve the issues of Kashmir, Palestine and Burma on priority basis.
