LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has called on the government to accept the due demands of the farmers.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the JI chief urged the government to fulfill the demands made by the farmers. The Punjab government should fix the wheat price at Rs2,000 per maund like Sindh. Arresting people is not a solution to any issue now problems should be addressed rather than making hollow speeches, Siraj added.
He further said that the peasants wanted to include themselves in the policy making procedure.
The JI chief said that the government should fix the support price for the sugarcane and wheat considering the farmer’s production cost.
