KARACHI: Sindh Rangers have issued performance report since launch of Karachi operation against miscreants.
Rangers have conducted 5,795 raids since September 05, 2013 and arrested 10,353 accused.
Those arrested include 826 terrorists, 334 target killers and 296 extortionists.
During this time period, 364 terrorists were also killed in exchange of fire with Rangers.
The paramilitary force seized 7312 weapons and 348978 cartridges.
Earlier today, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah extended special powers for Rangers for the next four months, expressing hope that the paramilitary force would continue to work with the similar enthusiasm with which it is operating in Karachi.
According to a spokesman for the chief minister, the specials powers to the Rangers have been given under the anti-terrorism act.
The statement comes hours before the Rangers’ powers expire. The Rangers have been carrying out a drive against criminal elements with special policing powers at its disposal.
