KARACHI: Sindh government on Tuesday decided to install 10,000 new CCTV cameras on more than 2000 places for security purpose.
According to Supreme Court (SC) directives, the cameras will be installed outside markets, chowks and important roads while religious places, educational institutions and hospitals would also be observed by these cameras.
For this purpose, Sindh Chief Minister has approved10 billion rupees.
Three new regional command and control centres would also be established for the monitoring through these CCTV cameras.
Sources told that the research work would be done in four months after the appointment of consultants for the implementation of the project.
According to officials, more than 30,000 CCTV cameras are required for complete surveillance of the city.
They said that this step would be helpful in facilitating the citizens and also restricting maximum criminal activities.
