Sindh Governor Imran Ismail decides to resign

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the PTI government wants to serve the people of Sindh for which huge funds of Rs 3.5 billion were allocated for different districts but unfortunately the Sindh government did not provide NOC which due to this, development work in Sindh could not start. He asked the Sindh government that when Edhi Foundation, Sailani and other organizations can work in Karachi, why can’t the Federal Govt work?

Sindh Governor expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of “Captain Moiz Fire & Rescue Station” in North Karachi Industrial Area. Faisal Moiz Khan, NKATI President, SVP Shabbir Ismail, VP Naeem Haider, Sadiq Muhammad, CEO NKIDMC, Faraz Mirza, Chairman Board, senior members Syed Usman Ali, Syed Tariq Rashid, Akhtar Ismail and others were also present on the occasion.

Imran Ismail requested the Sindh government to issue NOC for development works in the best interest of the people of Sindh and not to obstruct. “He stressed that to allow the Federal government to work as we know that political relations with the Sindh government are hardly established but we will definitely try for a working relationship, which will definitely benefit the people of Sindh”, he added.

Sindh Governor further said that today, seeing the plight of Karachi, the heart cries tears of blood because the roads are in a state of disrepair. There are piles of dirt everywhere but the Sindh government is not in the mood to do anything.

Governor Sindh termed the federal budget 2021-22 as poor and industry friendly and at the same time good news to the people of Karachi that buses would run from August on the Green Line project and said that those who are talking about our departure should listen carefully and we are not going anywhere. The PTI government is striving to serve the people and will continue to serve the people in spite of all obstacles.

Imran Ismail mentioned the significant funds allocated under the Ehsas program, and said that this program would definitely benefit the poor and unemployed youth immensely. He asked the NKATI president to set up a help desk to guide the unemployed youth in providing loans, for which they would also be provided staff.

Mr. Ismail appreciated the arrangements of “Captain Moiz Fire & Rescue Station” and said that fire tenders have been provided to industrial areas under public-private partnership, so that in case of any untoward incident in the industrial areas, timely relief activities can be carried out for which we also need the expertise of the fire brigade department.

He termed the Sindh Industrial Liaison Committee (SILC) as important for interaction between the industrial community and the Federal government, stating that SILC would provide significant assistance in resolving the issues facing the industries.

Faisal Moiz Khan, president NKATI, said that the provision of fire tenders by the Governor of Sindh to the industrial zones is commendable but we request that trained personnel be also provided for the fire tenders.

NKATI president further said that NKIDMC has fulfilled all its responsibilities and completed all the necessary works but DMC has the authority to take care of it, which should be with NKIDMC.

“Industrialists face 22 to 23 government departments daily for which it is necessary to introduce one window facility system”, he concluded his remarks.
