Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday warned of tightening the lockdown measures again in case public and shopkeepers continue to violate the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The chief minister issued this warning in
a video message here.
The chief minister said that he had received reports that neither traders nor public are following the government’s SOPs.
Shah said that he would withdraw the relaxation given for reopening of shops in case the SOPs are not followed.
He said that public was not understanding the severity of the virus pandemic.
He said that our hospitals could not bear the pressure of new cases.
Meanwhile, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Tuesday said that schools might not reopen for another six months due to coronavirus pandemic.
Addressing a presser here, the minister said that online education system would be announced in the next few days.
He said that schools would not open from June 1 in Sindh, adding that new date would be announced later.
We need to bring changes to our lifestyle following the pandemic, he stressed.
He said: “We are working on different models to continue education of children since schools might not reopen for another six months. We should mentally be prepared for this.”
