Sindh CM takes notice of rising street crimes

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken notice of rising incidents of street crimes and bank robberies in the metropolis.

Sharing his concern with Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali here Thursday, the CM directed the high official to combat crimes in the area.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that matter is extremely serious and sense of security and protection among masses cannot be allowed to be disturbed at any cost.

He urged the Sindh Police Chief to ensure all the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to take responsibility for strengthening security in their respective areas.

“They should enhance patrolling in their areas of jurisdiction and keep a vigilant eye on the activities of criminals,” said Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Expressing his concern about bank robberies, the CM said the matter is serious and the elements involved in such activities must be handled with iron hands.

He warned to hold police officers of the concerned areas responsible for street crimes or bank robberies. Sindh Police Chief was asked to present report on crime situation on fortnightly basis.
