Sindh CM takes notice of attacks on media houses

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of violence against media houses in Karachi by outrageous workers belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) here on Monday.

Sindh CM ordered Inspector General (IG) Sindh A. D. Khawaja to bring situation under control at earliest. Following the high-level orders, security personnel started pushing protestors back by firing tear gas shells and baton charge.

MQM workers once again attacked media houses in the metropolis after concluding Hunger Strike organised before Karachi Press Club (KPC).

Two persons were reportedly wounded by firing and stoning by the MQM protestors while two motorcycles and a police van were torched at the spot. A large numbers of locals were still stranded in the nearby shopping plazas due to the deteriorated situation.

Few minutes past, MQM leadership announced to end hunger strike and ordered protesting workers to return homes.
