KARACHI: A day after rejection of Sindh government’s summary by the Ministry of Interior, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has summoned an emergency meeting today to ponder different options on Rangers’ powers.

On Tuesday, the interior ministry rejected the provincial government’s summary and extended Rangers’ special powers for another 60 days.

According to sources, the provincial government has started consultation with legal experts and later the authorities could approach court in this regard.

Talking to media after meeting with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in Karachi, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani said that the federal government should not have rejected the resolution straightaway. Federation’s attitude on the matter was regrettable, he added.
