LAHORE: Shuhada-e-Wafa Conference on Monday condemned judicial killing of the Jamaat-e-Islami leaders in Bangladesh and lashed out at Pakistani government for holding criminal silence over the executions of those who supported the United Pakistan.
Speakers of the conference paid rich tribute to those in Bangladesh who were executed for loyalty to Pakistan. Shuhada-e-Wafa Conference was organized by Islamic Lawyers Movement at Lahore High Court Bar.
The conference was presided over by Rana Zia Abdul Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq was the chief guest.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, former Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Ansari, SC Bar Secretary Asad Manzoor and others addressed the conference.
While addressing the conference, JI Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq said the only sin of slain JI leader Motiur Rahman Nizami was that he supported united Pakistan. He refused to be a part of separation. Haq said Nizami among other JI leaders executed in Bangladesh did not submit mercy plea to Sheikh Hasina Wazed. He said JI leaders laid down their lives for the defence of ideology of Pakistan. JI leaders accepted that Pakistan was their country and what did they do, was the desire of the constitution, Haq added.
Sirajul Haq paid rich tribute to Recep Tayyip Erdogan for withdrawing Turkey’s ambassador from Bangladesh in a protest over Nizami’s execution. Erdogan also expelled Bangladeshi envoy form his country and named a highway after Motiur Rahman Nizami, he added.
Haq lashed out at the Pakistani rulers for declaring the executions’ issue as internal matter of Bangladesh. He warned the rulers that if the government did not take measures, the Sheikh Hasina Wazed government will demand Pakistan to hand over the 163 army officers.
Sirajul Haq condemned the US threats to Pakistan and demand of “do more.” He said the government should defend the sovereignty of Pakistan and refuse to hand over Shakeel Afridi to US. He said no country could become prosperous without accountability and rule of justice.
