Complete shutdown was observed on the fourth consecutive day in Shopian district of Indian occupied Kashmir against arrest of youth.

According to Kashmir Media Service, all shops and business establishments remained closed while public transport was off the road. Mobile internet service in both Pulwama and Shopian districts remained suspended.

Indian police had arrested many youth from different areas of Shopian during night raids.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people braving snowfall thronged the residence of martyred teenage girl, Saima Wani, at Aodoo in Shopian to express sympathy and solidarity with her family.

Saima was injured in the firing of the Indian troops on peaceful protesters during a cordon and search operation at Chaigund in the district on January 24 and succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Srinagar on Saturday night.
