LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday accepted a bail plea of former Punjab chief minister and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif in the assets beyond known sources of income case.

A full-bench led by Justice Baqir Najafi of the LHC had unanimously announced the verdict.

Speaking after the verdict to the media outside the LHC, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah questioned why the “puppet government” had wasted three years of the nation? The larger bench had testified to our innocence. Only revenge and destruction has been carried out in the country as politics of revenge is at play, Sanaullah added.

He was of the view that the days had been numbered of the “selected rulers”. Pakistan will move ahead under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, he added.
