He said that he demanded from Army Chief General Bajwa and DG ISI that if we have committed treason then bring the evidence before the nation and the court.
“I have never spoken in such clear words, now I am also pleading with the court. We will demand through our lawyers that please review this matter and form a forum in which the matter is cleared,” he said.
“We have been demanding for three and a half years that this government is fake and the prime minister is also fake. When we moved a no-confidence motion, both constitutionally and legally, slogans of treason were raised,” he said.
Shehbaz said that the time has come for the army chief who have made innumerable sacrifices to give an indication today as to whether the National Security Committee passed a resolution in which there is a role of international conspiracy and opposition. Did they sign those minutes? See if it has the approval of the establishment?
In response to a question, he said that no letter was received from Arif Alvi for the caretaker setup. Arif Alvi and Imran Niazi are violators of the constitution. It will be decided first, he said.
Yesterday, former opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif has refused to suggest a name for the caretaker prime minister.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the president had violated the Constitution, adding that how can we talk to those who violated the Constitution.
He said the caretaker prime minister will not be part of the consultation. We will go to the polls after the reforms, he added.
He said that the president, Imran Khan, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker had violated the Constitution.
He further said that our eyes are on the Supreme Court. He hoped that the judiciary would ensure the observance of the constitution. Imran Khan had sent a message to the opposition that we should be given a way out.
