KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has directed the commissioner of Karachi to fix price of milk within a month.
Earlier, a SHC bench heard a petition on hike in milk pri ce and ordered Karachi Commisioner Navid Ahmed Shaikh to submit an assurance in writing to the court about solution of milk price within 30 days.
The court warned of initiating contempt proceeding against the commissioner if he failed to fix milk price within 30 days.
A lawyer for the petitioner informed the SHC that the court had earlier fixed the price of milk at Rs94 per liter but the retailers and dairy farmers were charging Rs130 for a litre.
