KARACHI: Sindh high court has dismissed over 300 petitions filled by mutual funds against mandatory requirement of obtaining certificate for availing exemption from withholding tax.
The court dismissed around 336 petitions which prayed the court that the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 has already allowed the exemption from deduction of withholding tax under Section 150, 151 and 233.
The SHC dismissed the petitions and allowed petitioners to file appeal against the judgment before Supreme Court in two weeks.
