PESHAWAR: A special court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Nat Geo’s famed ‘Afghan Girl’ Sharbat Gula, who has been in the custody of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) since Oct 26.

According to her lawyer, Sharbat Gula was on her way to Afghanistan when she was arrested.
During a bail hearing Sharbat Gula’s lawyer told the court that his client is the sole bread winner of her family and is currently suffering from Hepatitis C.
The Peshawar’s special court comprising additional session judge Farah Jamshaid after hearing arguments from lawyers rejected the bail plea of Afghan blue-eyed fame woman.
The judge remarked after the judgment that she could be given a relief as a woman but her crime is major and terming it national crime and it could not be forgiven.
The court observed in its order that when the suspect was asked whether she wanted to record her confession she replied in negative and refused to confess her guilt. The court then sent the suspect to Peshawar central prison on judicial remand for 14 days.
