Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan became the quickest player in the history of Test cricket to achieve a dual feat of taking 200 wickets and scoring 3000 runs.

The 31-year-old Bangladesh all-rounder achieved the milestone on the third day of their first Test against West Indies in Chittagong.

This was Shakib’s 54th Test, in which Bangladesh defeated West Indies by 64 runs.

Prior to that, legendary English all-rounder Ian Botham reached the milestone in his 55th Test. Shakib is the 14th player in the Test cricket history to take 200 wickets and score 3000 runs.

Chasing a target of 204, West Indies were bowled out for 139. Shakib and Mehidy Hasan claimed two wickets each for the hosts.

Sunil Ambris was the last man dismissed after top-scoring for the visitors with 43.

Bangladesh lead the two-Test series 1-0, with the next match to be held in Dhaka from November 30.
