Settlement of hydel profit between Centre, KP hailed

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise and Taxation Jamshaid ud Din on Friday welcomed the agreement that reached between the Centre and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on settlement of hydel profit, gas quota.

Talking to various delegation here at his office, he appreciated the role of federation on amicable resolution of the issue and said that the agreement ahead of the meeting of Council of Common Interest (CCI) would go a long way in resolution of all other issues among federation and the province.

He said the payment of the hydel profit would enable the province to spend amount of power generation projects, irrigation of barren lands in KP and welfare of masses.

He said the KP government also deserves the credit of the agreement, as it struggled a lot to get its share from the federation through legal and amicable means.

He said many issues of the provincial would have resolved if the previous governments of KP had adopted the same approach with the federation in past.

He said PTI led KP government has successfully plead the case of the province with the federation and succeeded to get the right of KP people on their resources.
