Seniors vs Juniors: PHF names 35 jr players to play series

LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation has announced the names of 35 junior players to play a three test match series against the national senior team.

“The players were selected following trials which concluded here on Friday and the names were recommended by the national selection committee which watched the players in action”, said a spokesman of PHF.

Following were selected,

(Goalkeepers), Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Ali Raza, Roman, Hafiz Ali Umair & Usman Ghani .

(Full backs), Atif Mushtaq, Hassan Anwar, Zahid Ullah, Faisal Shah & Abid Bhatti.

(Halves), Abu Bakar Mahmood, Faizan, Mohammad Junaid Kamal, Mohammad Usman, Mohammad Qasim, Ali Raza, Tanzeem ul Hassan and Sohail Sheraz.

(Forwards), Shan Irshad, Mohammad Azfar Yaqoob, Muhammad Dilber, Muhammad Atiq, Mohammad  Bilal Qadir, Mohsin Sabir, Rana Sohail, Fahad Ullah, Sami Ullah, Amir Ali, Mohammad Shehar Yar, Mohammad Rizwan, Bilal Mahmood, Muhammad Naveed, Saran Bin Qamar, Khair Ullah and Zeeshan Bukhari. The three test series will be played from March 29 with first match at Sargodha, second on March 30 at Lahore and the third on March 31 also at Lahore.

“The series will give more exposure and tough competitions to the Pakistan Senior and Junior hockey teams”, said the spokesman of PHF.
