KARACHI: Director General Sindh Rangers Major Bilal Akbar on Friday said the paramilitary force arrested a senior leader of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), during a raid three days ago.
Speaking at Political Conference at Social Sciences Department of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Karachi University campus, he said Mehsood was involved in several acts of terrorism.
“Political parties are also admitting that crime rate has dropped in Karachi,” he said, adding that support from youth was vital in restoration of peace in the city.
Responding to a question, he said the Rangers were meant to provide security not to run government.
