KABUL: A senior Al-Qaeda leader and suicide bombing in-charge Abu Khalil al-Sudani among two others were killed by US air strike in Afghanistan.
Pentagon said that the top Al-Qaeda leaders were killed on July 11th in Paktika province. Pentagon said in the statement that Al-Sudani was one of three known violent extremists killed in the strike. The death of al-Sudani would further degrade Al Qaeda operations across the globe.
The Pentagon said that Sudani was a senior Shura member and head of Al-Qaeda suicide and explosive operations. He was directly linked to plotting attacks against the United states.
The statement said that he was also controlling the operations against Pakistani and Afghan forces. He was very close to Ayman al-Zawahiri.
