ISLAMABAD: The Senate which met in Islamabad on Monday afternoon passed a unanimous resolution expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in Naltar tragedy.
The resolution moved by Sehar Kamran stated that the entire Pakistani nation is in the state of shock and mourning over this irreparable loss. It said the people of Pakistan stand with the people of Norway, Philippines, Poland, Holland, Indonesia and Malaysia in this difficult time.
The resolution said the valuable contribution of the diplomats in promoting cordial relations with Pakistan will be remembered for last. It recommended the highest national honour for the diplomats, valiant pilots and a soldier who embraced martyrdom.
The House also passed another resolution unanimously recommending the government to take appropriate measures reducing indirect taxation. Later, the House resumed discussion on a motion moved by Osman Saifullah Khan regarding the overall performance of the banking sector in the country.
Taking part in the discussion, the members said that the Islamic Banking should be promoted to regulate the banking affairs. They said if Islamic banking is truly introduced in the country, it will help reduce unemployment in the country.
