ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Thursday adopted a the 3rd interim report of the committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Convener Special Committee on CPEC Senator Taj Haider presented the report before the House.
Speaking on the occasion, he told the House that the Committee had visited the Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and asked the people of the area about the CPEC.
He said there is a dire need of expansion of Kurakuram Highway for the smooth travelling of the transportation of the goods.
He suggested that the government should establish a international airport at GB which is need of hour in keeping view the benefits of the CPEC.
Senator Nehyal Hashmi said the first phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor would be completed in 2020 while the second phase will be completed in 2023.
