In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, has strongly condemned the desecration of bodies of the youth martyred by Indian troops in Srinagar on Saturday.

The troops martyred two youth during a cordon and search operation in Khonmoh area of Srinagar. Their bodies were charred beyond recognition as the troops set ablaze a house in the area by using chemical substance.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said that such charred barbarism was considered a big offence under international laws and was highly condemnable under Geneva conventions. However, he said in occupied Kashmir, Indian troops were committing it just like it was a normal as nobody had opposed them. He deplored that it is a common practice now by the Indian forces’ personnel to burn down houses and hand over charred bodies of youth to the families.

The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman said that the inhumane behaviour of the Indian troops at Khonmoh with the dead bodies was unethical and unacceptable. He described Kashmir as a flashpoint between India and Pakistan and urged the international community to intervene and come forward for the rescue of the Kashmiris.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League spokesman in a statement in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the youth martyred in Khonmoh. He said that the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri youth for the sacred cause of freedom would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be accomplished at all costs.
