RAWALPINDI: At least three terrorists including a women involved in Punjab’s Interior Minister Colonel (Retd) Shujah Khanzada attack were killed while a Sub-Inspector embraced martyrdom in hours long fire exchange in Rawalpindi.
The security forces including the Elite Force and officials of other law enforcement agencies clashed with the terrorists in Thursday’s wee hours and killed three terrorists including a woman believed to be involved in the suicide attack.
Two of the terrorists detonated themselves during the clash. One suicide attacker was arrested in wounded state, police said.
A Sub-Inspector of the Elite Force was also martyred while 3 others were injured during the confrontation.
The incident occurred near Jorian in Chakri area of Rawalpindi. The operation was conducted on information of terrorists in the area.
The ensuing gun battle between the law enforcement agencies and the terrorists lasted for almost four hours. Sounds of gunfire and explosions rang through the area during the operation.
The injured officers have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
