Schools will be closed from tomorrow in KP

All private, government schools closed till November 17

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced to close educational institutions in several cities from tomorrow.

Addressing a presser here on Monday, KP Education Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai said that the schools would be closed in the areas where the coronavirus positivity rate exceeds 5 per cent.

He said that schools in Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Swat, Lower Dir and Malakand would be closed from tomorrow. Educational institutions would remain closed from tomorrow till March 28 as the positivity rate in these districts is between 10 and 13 per cent.

Shahram Turakai said that staff would come during the closure of schools and parents would come to school for homework.

It is to be noted that after the third wave of coronavirus in the country, Covid-19 restrictions have been imposed once again across the country while spring holidays have also been announced in educational institutions in some cities of Punjab.
