Karachi: The All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Association (ASPSCA) has termed the cancellation of examinations and entension in school vacations as an hurriedly taken decision both by the federal and Sindh governments.
ASPSCA Chairman Haider Ali speaking to the media opposed cancellation of examinations and extension in vacations.
The chairman and other members of the association including Shahab Iqbal, Dost Muhammad Danish and Murtaza Shah has recommended standard operating procedures SOPs for opening of schools.
They said that the institutions should be opened from June 15.
From June 1 to 13, staff and parents be trained about SOPs.
Posters carrying precautionery measures be posted at prominent places. Thermal scanners and sanitising walk through gates be errected at the entry points. Face masks be arranged for each student and staff member.
School/college buildings should be sanitised on weekly basis.
Working days be reduced to four days a week from Monday to Thursday.
For the safety of students, institutions can work in two shifts daily. First shift from 7:30 to 10:30 while the second from 11:00 to 2pm. Each student should sit in individual desk.
Students suffering from flu, cough and fever should be granted leave from school.
Recommendations for exams:
Examinations for 9th and 10th grades be conducted phase wise from July 1 to 15 while that of intermediate from July 20 to August 20.
The number of examination centers be increased.
Students should be made to stand in queues with distance while entrying or exiting the examination centers.
