KARACHI: KMC Administrator, Laeeq Ahmed has directed Human Resources Management (HRM) Department to complete the schedule of establishment of six different service cadres in KMC within 15 days.
He has also directed to prepare a seniority list of each service cadre so that HRM problems in KMC could be corrected.
He said this in a briefing regarding human resource management department which held in Civic Centre on Wednesday, said a statement.
He instructed to publish the seniority list of the officers of grade 16 to 20 in a week in the first phase.
The Administrator said service cadre which is essential for development and better performance of any organization still does not exist in KMC.
Therefore, all the human resources in KMC should be divided into six service cadres with the preparation of seniority list of each cadre including medical services, engineering, finance, administration, law and information technology, he added.
He said the HRM holds much importance in any organization and it must operate in a fully professional way, service cadre and seniority list were quite important as without it no promotion or posting could be done on merit, that’s why immediate attention must be given to it.
Laeeq Ahmed said the problem of human resources management in KMC should be solved under a professional method to bring improvement to the organization.
He also directed to provide a full list of the permanent and contractual employees of KMC and compile the separate list of the SCUG and KMC posts.
He said the employee service book and personal file should be consulted for preparing the seniority list and the salary of such employee be stopped and removed from posting whose service book or personal file was not available.
The Administrator said merely removing the OPS staff is not the implementation of Supreme Court verdict but it also include other matters regarding HRM and implementation of which is essential.
