SC suspends SHC order to seal, demolish Moon Gardens

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday suspended the Sindh High Court order to seal and demolish the Moon Gardens residential complex in Karachi and ordered the builder to deposit security of 50 million rupees in cash as well as a Rs50 million bank guarantee in the next 15 days.

The Sindh High Court had issued orders to seal and demolish Moon Gardens which is said to have been illegally constructed on Railways Housing property.

The court has also issued orders that no further leases for property at Moon Gardens should be issued until the matter is settled, following which the hearing was adjourned. On the other hand Police have arrested the builder of Moon Garden in Islamabad.
