ISLAMABAD: Supreme court of Pakistan has rejected the schedule of local bodies election in Islamabad and ordered Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to issue new schedule of elections and remove legal complications.
The court has adjoined the hearing on August 3 and postponed the local bodies elections which are schedule to take place on July 25.
The three member bench headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaja have done the hearing on the application of ECP.
During the hearing the court has ordered attorney general to present government’s hand written answer if they are willing to conduct LB-polls.
Attorney General Amir Rehman said that they already called the meeting of stakeholders in which they would take suggestions from lawmakers and government.
